CONFIDARE FOUNDATIONS
You were promoted for being good at the work. No one taught you how to lead the people.
Confidare Foundations is a three-month live cohort for people in their first years of supervising. You’ll build the three skills the job actually asks for — communicating clearly, developing your people, and holding people accountable with care — and learn to deliver them in a way people can receive. Built for the seat you’re in now, not the one you had before.

One day you’re the one getting it done. The next, you’re responsible for a team getting it done, and the skills that earned you the promotion aren’t the ones the new job asks for. Most new supervisors get a title, a few more meetings, and no real training.
Over three months, you’ll build the three skills that make or break your first years leading a team. Not leadership theory. The concrete, repeatable moves you can use in your very next conversation.

If any of these sound familiar, you’re in the right place:
You avoid a hard conversation because you’re not sure how to have it without damaging the relationship.
You’re doing work you should be delegating because handing it off feels slower or riskier than just doing it yourself.
You’ve let a performance issue slide because naming it feels harsher than living with it.
A conversation went badly and you’ve been avoiding that person ever since, because you don’t know how to go back.
None of that means you’re bad at this. It means no one has shown you the moves yet.
That’s what Foundations is for.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN
Three modules. Three months. One supervisor people want to work for.

MODULE 1
Communicate clearly
Communicate clearly
Communicate clearly

Say what you mean so it actually lands. You’ll learn to lead with the bottom line, which means saying the main point first instead of building up to it. You’ll learn to listen for what someone isn’t saying. And you’ll learn to have the hard-but-kind conversations you’ve been avoiding.
You’ll also learn to repair, which is how to go back after something came out wrong. Most people think a conversation that went badly is ruined for good. It isn’t, and knowing that is what makes you willing to have the next one.

Develop your people
Develop your people
Develop your people

Stop being the bottleneck. You’ll learn what each person on your team needs to do their best work, how to hand off real work in a way that grows them instead of just clearing your plate, and how to give feedback someone can actually use. You’ll leave with a bank of questions built for the conversations supervisors have and usually avoid.

Hold accountability with care

Hold accountability with care

Hold the standard and the relationship at the same time. You’ll set expectations people can actually meet, address small problems while they’re still small, and handle a performance conversation with both honesty and dignity. This is where holding the standard and the relationship together matters most.

Each module includes two to three short videos, signature tools with examples you’ll actually use, a small practice to try at work that week, and a short reflection — about an hour of content to watch and read each month.
In addition, each month offers two live 2-hour cohort sessions with Sheila, including small-group breakout conversations for connection and practice. Live cohort sessions will be recorded and available for you to watch later in case you have to miss a session.

Most new supervisors learn this by trial and error, usually on their own team. Foundations gives you a steady monthly rhythm, a small group to practice with, and time to try the hard conversations before they count.

Short, well-timed emails mark the way: a welcome before you start, a note as each module opens, a check-in at the halfway point, and a real celebration when you finish. Just enough structure to keep your momentum without adding to your plate.

MEET YOUR COACH
Hi, I’m Sheila
Hi, I’m Sheila
Hi, I’m Sheila
I’ve spent nearly 30 years in nonprofit and community-driven work — leading statewide programs, managing multimillion-dollar budgets, supporting hundreds of staff, and holding VP roles at two organizations. I’ve also sat exactly where you sit: newly responsible for other people, carrying more than any org chart shows, and learning the hard way how little leadership development is actually built for that seat.
I built Confidare to close that gap with practical tools and honest insight, not theory for its own sake. Foundations is where I’d start anyone stepping into leadership for the first time.

Leaders Impacted Annually
As a coach, facilitator, and consultant, I’ve partnered with the Annie E. Casey Foundation, StriveTogether, Lutheran Services in America, Future Farmers of America, and hundreds of individual leaders.
What I kept hearing from the people in the middle was the same thing: “The training I get is either too basic or too executive. Nothing fits the job I actually do.”
They were right. Most leadership programs skip the middle — the seat where your actual work happens. Confidare is what I built to fix that.
My conviction is simple: managers become better leaders when they learn to be steady, clear, and fair — especially when things get complicated. No leadership theater. No theory without follow-through. Just a 3-month cohort built for the job you actually do.
